Bio / ContactLove Cult is a duo of Anya Kuts and Ivan Afanasyev based in Petrozavodsk, Russia. Since 2009 the two have been creating charming underwater chorals, handcrafted drones, sharp noises, wordless mantras, sedative beats and decomposed folk songs. Love Cult have played their hypnotic live shows all over the North-West of Europe, as well as in Turkey. Always on the edge of blissful relaxation and challenging sonic construction. Notable performances: — Art’s Birthday Party w/ Lust for Youth, Family Underground and more (2012 Stockholm, Sweden) — Servataguse Muusika Festival w/ Kemialliset Ystävät, Sand Circles, Kylie Minoise and more (2011 Tallinn, Estonia) — Silent Film Days — Music for “An Andalusian Dog” (2011 Tromsø, Norway) — Creepy Teepee Festival w/ Rainbow Arabia, Moon Duo, Terror Bird, Pictureplane and more (2010 Kutná Hora, Czech) — Tours and shows with Grouper, High Wolf, Kría Brekkan, Lucky Dragons, Kuupuu, Ensemble Economique, Dora Bleu, Golden Cup, Woodpecker Wooliams… The couple actively participate in a number of experimental/improv projects and initiatives, and run Full of Nothing label together.
